If you have f*cked up your business or had a professional f*ck up, don’t worry, you’re not alone.
There are plenty of ‘f*ckuppers’ around, and they’re all coming together this Thursday, Jan. 23, at Fifth Avenue Cinemas to listen to, and learn from, stories of business failure at .
The event is “a global movement and event series where stories of failed businesses and projects are told, questioned and celebrated.”
The 'F*ckup movement' started back in 2012 in Mexico City and can now be found in 90 countries and 318 cities. The organization’s mission is “to help create a world where everyone can share their failures openly.”
“We believe that living without filters and being vulnerable is needed in order to evolve capitalism,” say F*ckup Nights creators.
At Vancouver's fourth event, attendees will hear from people in the creative tech industry. Three to four ‘f*ckuppers’ will have seven minutes each to tell a room full of strangers about their own professional f*ck up.
The stories told range from businesses that crash and burn, partnership deals that go sour to products that get recalled and projects that are just an epic fail. The night offers a chance to find out what other professionals learnt during their f*ck up, what they would do differently next time and how they recovered.
The organization says it is always looking for speakers to share their stories with the community. Reach out to [email protected] if you think you have something worth sharing.
