They dive bomb. They make a lot of noise. They hold court on fences and wires. The crow may well be the unofficial bird of Vancouver, and one local blogger shares her love for the distinctive birds in her annual City Crow Calendar.

June Hunter is the woman behind the lens of the calendar featuring images of crows around Vancouver. This is her fourth year releasing a calendar.
"In a city getting denser by the day, watching a crow in action might be the only
reminder an urbanite gets of the wider natural world in which we all exist," explains Hunter.
Hunter blogs about nature--including, of course, crows--on her site .
While crows are known for being aggressive, Hunter notes that they dive bomb because they are "family-oriented," adding "their intelligence is undeniable."
True, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»seems to love and hate crows; they terrify many of us through the spring and into summer, but we also can find deep affection for them, including crows like Canuck, whose unique tale of companionship has been widely documented. We even voted to name Canuck the Crow the city's unofficial ambassador earlier this year.
Hunter has included crow facts and interesting tidbits from her own life observing crows within the pages of her calendar, in addition to the striking full-page photos used for each month.
