What to do on Canada Day in and around Vancouver

Looking for something fun to do in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­or the surrounding municipalities for Canada Day? Here are a few events happening on July 1, 2023.

This spring, The Port of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­announced that the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Canada Day fireworks at Canada Place have been permanently cancelled. However, just because there won't be any fireworks on the waterfront, it doesn't mean there isn't plenty to do if you want to get out and have some fun on July 1.

Here are some activities and events for you to celebrate Canada Day in and around Vancouver.

Canada Day events in Vancouver

A gathering to honour Canada’s diversity and a day of  ‘Weaving together the fabric of a nation,’ Canada Together will feature a day full of festivities, entertainment, amazing food, family activities and some incredible performances. This event is the Port of Vancouver's reworked Canada Day celebration. 

When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Outdoor areas of Canada Place, Jack Poole Plaza and surrounding city streets.

From children's activities to an arts market and some incredible music, Kitsilano Showboat will be celebrating Canada Day to the fullest.

When:  3 to 9 p.m.

Where: Kitsilano Showboat, 2300 Cornwall Ave

An open-air party in the city’s south end, this 19+ event will include a variety of performers and a bar.

When: 4 to 10 p.m.

Where: Shaughnessy Street Park, 9250 Shaughnessy St

A free event with live entertainment, a bouncy castle, a steel drumming performance and lots more.

When: 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Kerrisdale Centennial Park, 5898 Yew St

Canada Day events in Surrey/White Rock

A day full of free, family-friendly entertainment, amusement rides, exhibitor booths, an Indigenous Village, food trucks and fireworks at night.

When: 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Where: Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre - 17728 64 Ave, Surrey

A day of farm fresh food, children's activities with free entry for all.

When: 10 a.m.

Where: Royal Kwantlen Park - 13035 104 Ave, Surrey

Enjoy pancake breakfast, a vendor marketplace, a kid zone with a bouncy obstacle course, and a firework finale at White Rock.

When: 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Where: Memorial Park and White Rock Waterfront, White Rock
