Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»schools compete at regional volleyball tournaments this week in a battle for berths to the senior boys and senior girls B.C. School Sport volleyball championships, which begin in two weeks.
City schools are vying for placement in the senior girls AAAA tournament, while senior boys teams are playing in the AA and AAA tournaments. If you have information about Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»private schools, please contact me.

AAAA senior girls
Four Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»teams play in a 12-team tournament that begins today with a group stage held at Killarney and Lord Byng secondaries. These opening games are capped at three sets.
Pool A is the Killarney Cougars, North Vancouver’s Handsworth Royals, and the Burnaby North Vikings. Pool B is the against the Van Tech Talismen and Burnaby’s Moscrop Panthers.
Pool C is Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»no. 2 Lord Byng Grey Ghosts with the Burnaby Mountain Lions and a wildcard team. Pool D is the West Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Highlanders and Richmond’s McMath Wildcats against a second wildcard team.
Pools A and B play at Killarney secondary. Pools C and D are at Lord Byng secondary.
The top two teams from each group advance to Thursday's quarterfinals at the respective schools. All quarterfinals are at 8 p.m. Games are best of five sets.
The semi-finals are at 11 a.m. Saturday followed by the championship game at 3 p.m. the same day, all at Lord Byng secondary. The third-place and fifth-place games are at 1 p.m., also at Lord Byng.
The B.C. Championships run Dec. 1 to 3 at North Vancouver’s Handsworth secondary.

AAA senior boys
This tournament started Tuesday with 12 teams and is already down the final four, which includes three teams from Vancouver.
All four finalists are guaranteed berths at the B.C. Championships Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at the Langley Events Centre. The fifth and sixth place teams will be considered for three open, province-wide berths.
In the quarterfinals today at 3 p.m., the David Thompson Trojans play Burnaby’s city champs, the Moscrop Panthers at Moscrop secondary.
In the second quarterfinal at 6 p.m. today, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»city champion Van Tech Talisman for the city title, the Killarney Cougars. The rematch is held at Van Tech secondary.
The senior boys AAA Lower Mainland championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at David Thompson secondary.
The third-place and fifth-place games are at 5:30 p.m., also at David Thompson secondary.

AA senior boys
The Lower Mainland tournament started Wednesday with six teams competing for two berths to the senior boys AA B.C. Championships, also held Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at the LEC.
The regional tournament is a best-of-five round-robin with the top two teams advancing.
The Tupper Tigers are the top-ranked Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»team, followed by the Magee Lions.
Tonight at McRoberts secondary in Richmond, the Lions play the Richmond Colts at 4 p.m. and the host McRoberts Strikers meet the Tigers at 6 p.m. Medals and rewards will follow.
