For the first time in association history, the 鶹ýӳMinor Lacrosse Association (VMLA) will play host to the bantam provincial championships, a four-day tourney that plays out July 16 to 20 at the Killarney, Kitsilano, and Trout Lake arenas.
鶹ýӳwill be fielding three teams in the tournament, playing in the A2, B and C divisions.
“We are excited and honoured to host this celebration of box lacrosse in our hometown. This tournament will bring together the very best of bantam age box lacrosse athletes from across B.C. to Vancouver,” said VMLA president Regina Villanueva in a news release. “Our lacrosse community is looking forward to hosting and celebrating Canada’s national summer sport.”
Vancouver’s A2 team opens up play on July 16 against Saanich. Game time is set for 10:15 a.m. at Trout Lake arena. The C team takes on Cowichan Valley at Killarney arena at 10:15 a.m. as well, while the B Club hosts North Okanagan at 11:45 a.m. at the Kitsilano arena.
The action comes to a close on July 18, with gold medal games slated for 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., for the C, B and A2 pools respectively.
