Richmond welcomes the junior skating world this week to Minoru Arenas for the International Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix.

Athletes from over 20 countries are slated to compete over three days in Junior Men鈥檚, Junior Ladies, Junior Pairs and Junior Ice Dance, starting on Thursday.

The Richmond stop is part of a Junior Grand Prix series around the world that will culminate with the Junior Grand Prix Final, Dec. 6-9 at UBC鈥檚 Doug Mitchell Arena.

With nearly 100 entries in the Junior Ladies Division alone, competition starts as early as 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.

Schedule

Thursday

Ladies (short program) 7:30 a.m and 11 a.m., Ice Dance (rhythm dance) 3:30 p.m, men (short program) 5:45 p.m.

Friday

Pairs (short program) 8 a.m., ice dance (free skate) 9:50 a.m., Pairs (short program) noon ladies (free skate) 2:20 pm., ice dance (free skate) 7:20 p.m. Victory ceremony 9:10 p.m.

Saturday

Men (free skate) 7:30 a.m., Pairs (free skate) 10:10 a.m., men鈥檚 free (12:30 p.m.), pair free (4:10 p.m.). Victory Ceremony: 6:10 p.m.

Ticket prices: $10 per day or $25 for all three. Children 12 and under free.
