For all the superlatives heaped on emerging star athletes, ÌýKeenan Williams has earned at least one that every pitcher would be thrilled to hear.Ìý

From the perspective of Jeff Johnson, the head coach at one of the best junior colleges in the U.S., "Keenan pas pitchability."

Williams, a Britannia gradiate, couples velocity with good command and can throw three pitches for strikes, including a fastball above 90 miles per hour.

"We see him developing and see him continuing to get better and better," said Johnson, who expects Williams to join the rotation as a starter next season with the highly regarded baseball program at Chipola College, located in Florida.

"We expect him to be one of our top boys on our staff, hopefully top three," said the coach, who has recruited and trained three Canadians that advanced to the major league.

Williams played high-level hockey before committing to baseball, where he began pitching and playing outfield for South Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Little League with his current North Shore Twins teammate Brad Smith. Both have since toured with the Canadian national junior team.

"He's one of those players that only goes in one speed -- top speed," said Twins pitching coach Brooks McNiven. "You know what you're going to get when you put him in. You're going to get everything he's got."
