NHLers from across Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»are returning home this weekend to raise money for sick kids across Canada.
Now in its second year, the Gallagher Celebrity Softball Classic kicks off at 6:30 p.m on Saturday at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Hosted by Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Giants alumni and current Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher, the game will feature a who’s who of NHLers with ties to Metro Vancouver, the Canucks and the Giants: Milan Lucic (Edmonton), Lance Bouma (Calgary), Morgan Rielly (Toronto), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Edmonton), Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg) and Sam Reinhart (Buffalo), as well as former NHLers Paul Reinhart, Dave Babych and Kyle Wellwood.
The event aims to raise both funding and awareness for Shriners Hospital for Children — Canada, and last year’s contest raised more than $15,000.
 Shriners Hospitals for Children — Canada encompasses 22 facilities, forming the largest pediatric hospital network in the world, according to a new release.
