Canadians co-owner Jake Kerr couldn't tell reporters what it was. But he was as mesmerized as the rest of us.
The flying object has now been identified. In what they鈥檙e calling a 鈥渉oax鈥� and an 鈥渆xtreme teaser campaign,鈥� the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre took responsibility for the orb on Tuesday.
鈥淭he goal of the faux UFO was to create a buzz about the new planetarium viewer experience at Vanier Park,鈥� the space centre wrote in a news announcement. 鈥淭he Planetarium Theatre at the Space Centre underwent a half million dollar upgrade this summer."
The orb was seen at Deep Cove, Jericho Beach and at C鈥檚 games through the playoffs. A YouTube video of the UFO at Nat Bailey has been viewed more than 216,000 times.
