Friday is Olympic Day at the Oval

Youth will have an opportunity to meet Olympians and try new sports

Kids will have a chance to meet Olympians and try new sports on Olympic Day at the Richmond Oval, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Canadian Olympians will be at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Friday to celebrate Olympic Day 2018.Ìý

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., provides an opportunity for youth to discover new sports and inspire them to maintain healthy and active lifestyles.

Confirmed sports for the day include: Athletics, Brazilian Soccer, Snowboard, Curling, Baseball , Fencing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, Wheel Chair Basketball, Climbing, Table Tennis, Basketball, Wheel Chair Rugby, Speed Skating and Ringette.

Olympians scheduled to attend are: Hilary Caldwell, Swimming (London 2012, Rio 2016); Jane Channell, Skeleton (PyeongChang 2018); Scott Dickens, Swimming (Athens 2004, London 2012); Alexandra Duckworth, Snowboard (Sochi 2014); Evan Dunfee, Athletics (Rio 2016); Andre Ho, Table Tennis (London 2012); Nikola Girke, Sailing (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016); Krista Guloien, Rowing, (Beijing 2008, London 2012), Mercedes Nicoll, Snowboard (Turin 2006, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­2010, Sochi 2014, PyeongChang 2018); Manny Sobral, Boxing (Seoul 1988) and Ken Whitehead, Soccer (Montreal 1976).
