SportAbility has announced the Team B.C. line-up for next month鈥檚 2018 Sledge Hockey Canadian Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
A 17-player squad has been selected to represent B.C. in Canada鈥檚 top domestic tournament for athletes playing sledge hockey (also known as Para Ice Hockey) slated for the Oval,聽 May 11-13.聽
Team B.C. head Coach James Gemmell, a member of Canada's 2018 Paralympic silver medal winning Para Ice Hockey team, is looking forward to seeing his team take on some of the best sledge hockey athletes from across Canada.聽
鈥淎fter seeing some real growth in sledge hockey in B.C., we have new names on our roster this year to complement our strong returning players. I鈥檝e been really impressed by the progress shown by our players this season and I鈥檓 excited to see how we stack up against our opponents at the Nationals, and moving forward into the future,鈥� said Gemmell.聽
The Team B.C. roster includes:聽Trevor Adelman (Quesnel), Peggy Assinck (Vancouver), Stephane Blais (Vancouver), Duane Evans (Surrey), Kyle Evans (Surrey), Kris Grace (Surrey), Kyle Gieni (Vancouver), Quin Gieni (Victoria), Thea Hill (Surrey), Robert Holm (Campbell River), Michael Lee (Vancouver), Benn Mapes (Vancouver), Riley Molnar (Vancouver), Matthew Norris (Maple Ridge), Bruce Reding (Surrey) and goalies Trent Seymour (Vancouver) and Philipe Bonnot (Vancouver).聽
