Prepare yourselves…. park terrain skateboarding is coming to Vancouver, dude.

There may be no better time to shred the gnar than later this week at the Hastings Skatepark.

The East 鶹ýӳskateboard haven will play host to its first ever Vans Pro Skate park terrain series event from July 7 to 9, a contest that will feature a pair of Vancouver-based riders in Adam Hopkins and James Clarke.

The event is free and open to the public and will pit some of the world’s top skaters against one another, as they vie for a prize purse of more than $500,000.

Outside of the nollies, backsides and stalefishes, the three-day skate session will also feature a public art installation and a family movie night.

“The Vans Park Series uniquely defines the park terrain format by its transitional concrete closed courses from five to nine feet in depth and being distinguished by having any number of features such as spines, angled hips, extensions, escalators, set-back walls, elevation changes, gaps and transfers, variable grinding surfaces and more,” notes a press release from Vans.
