Follow Vancouver-born Scott Serfas, one of the world's best adventure sport photographers, in this Reb Bull behind-the scenes film shot as he prepared to cover the Crankworx Whistler Joyride this summer. The popular Red Bull Joyride marked its fifth anniversary this August, bringing thousands of spectators and some of the best riders to Whistler for the slopestyle, dirt jump mountian bike competition.

Serfas, who is credited with -- including a vintage Thrasher shot -- was joined by Jussi Grznar and Mason Mashon to plan and execute shots for the high-octane event.

“The challenging part with shooting an event like this is that it’s only two hours and every athlete only rides two runs," Serfas said in a release from Red Bull. "Sometimes you may even only have one shot if a rider falls or in , take a victory lap on the second run. You have to understand the sport you are shooting, anticipate what’s going to happen and when. Understanding the full scope is key to capturing the full story.”
