The American Basketball Association’s Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Dragons have announced the majority of their home games this season will be played out of the Richmond Olympic Oval, starting on Nov. 3 when Las Vegas comes to town.

Presented by Legendary Developments, the Dragons are part of the ABA Far West Division with the hopes of making it to St. Louis next March for the ABA Elite Eight Championships.

The Dragons will be coached by Dikran Zabunyan and the team's President of Basketball Operations is former Canadian national team member Martin Keane. The club is owned by West Coast Sports.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»roster will include former Los Angeles Lakers and New Jersey Nets 7-footer Soumaila Samake with local talent Levon Kendall and Demitri Harris to name a few.

Some of the top teams in the semi-professional ABA are the Jacksonville Giants, Stockton Team Trouble and San Diego Kings.

Rounding out teams in the Far West Division are: Hawaii Swish, Henderson Hawks, Oakland Bayhawks, Orange County Novastars, San Diego Guardians, San Diego Surf, San Francisco City Cats, Sacramento Super Kats, Team Trouble, Tucson Buckets and Contra Costa County Delta Stars.

The Dragons-who are unrelated to previous basketball setups become the second team to play out of the Oval in recent years, following the failed and now-defunct Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Knights.

The Dragons intend to both service and develop basketball throughout the Lower Mainland, while providing existing fans with unique and exciting court side basketball experience, together with pre-game and half-time entertainment. Ticket prices will range from $20 (courtside VIP) to $10 for reserved seats. Student tickets are $5.

The Dragons will also be championing an extensive grassroots community program to encourage greater participation in basketball with kids camps and school visits. For more information visit www.vancouverdragons.com.
