Six-storey building proposed under moderate income rental housing program

Open house planned for March 4

A six-storey, mixed-use building is being pitched for property at 2810 and 2830 Grandview Highway near Kaslo Street.

The , which was submitted under the City of Vancouver’s , goes to open house on March 4.

The proposal envisions 57 rental units with 20 per cent of residential floor area devoted to moderate income households that earn between $30,000 and $80,000 annually.

Targeted rents in moderate income rental units are $950 for a studio, $1,200 for a one-bedroom, $1,600 for a two-bedroom and $2,000 for a three-bedroom.

Plans for the project include 41 underground parking spaces, including one car share, and 111 bicycle spaces.

A goal of the city’s Housing 鶹ýӳStrategy and its is to see that the “right supply” of housing is built for local incomes.

The open house runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym at Lord Beaconsfield elementary school at 3663 Penticton St., March 4.
