If, , you need some education or advice about home buying or home ownership costs, there is a free forum taking place that could help you out.
Presented by BC Housing, the Greater Â鶹´«Ă˝Ół»Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA) Homebuyer Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 4pm to 8:30 pm at SFU Harbour Centre, Vancouver. The forum will also be simultaneously live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
The annual event aims to help would-be home buyers by covering topics such as up-and-coming neighbourhoods, rent-to-own options, buying pre-sales direct from developers, leveraging the bank of Mom and Dad, and navigating the world of strata and saving money on energy costs – among other items.
“New developments continue to sell-out in the pre-sale stage. When it comes to buying in Vancouver, using tactical strategies is the only way to enter the market,” said Bob de Wit, CEO of GVHBA. “Understanding this market and learning how to leverage the resources around you, in what continues to be a very strong seller’s market, will help prospective homeowners achieve their end goal: owning a home.”
The event opens at 4pm for attendees to look at the exhibiting suppliers and organizations in the Marketplace trade show outside the lecture hall. The four panel sessions, each covering a range of topics under one general theme, begin at 5pm and run until 8.15pm.
The 10 panel speakers range from real estate industry leaders to mortgage experts to developers to strata experts to BC Housing representatives.
The forum is free to attend, but there is limited seating and registrations max out every year, so you need to book your place well in advance. The live-streamed online event also requires registration.
