NPA councillor Hector “the defector” Bremner and his new political party, Yes Vancouver, are a good looking bunch.
Bremner’s stylish coif, thick dark glasses and mixologist fashion sense have been for some time. But his party’s latest promotional video takes it to the next level.
First, there’s the old-timey font of Yes Vancouver’s logo (very on fleek).
Then there’s the large cardboard, three-dimensional letters on display at one of the most upbeat rallies we’ve ever seen, which almost looks like a Wes Anderson movie about a precocious kid running for class president.
And who can forget such inspirational statements as, “We need to restore something in this city that has been stolen from us.” Unceded Coast Salish territories? Just kidding, that would be crazy. “And that is the courage and bravery to say yes.” Whaaaaaa?
Then there’s a bunch of quick edits of Yes 鶹ýӳcandidates saying the same positive message about what 鶹ýӳneeds.
Don’t get us wrong. It’s one of the better promotions we’ve seen from a 鶹ýӳpolitical party since COPE left some wind chimes on our doorstep… or maybe we hallucinated that while on ayahuasca. But boy does it make us want to buy a bow tie, take ukulele lessons and discuss the caramel, red apple, chocolate notes of the single-origin coffee we’re drinking.
