Re: "Deceptive Conservatives have lost people's consent," March 8.
Bravo to Geoff Olson for having the courage to tell it like it is, in public, using his real name. He sets a great example for all Canadians.
I am increasingly alarmed at the direction the Harper government has taken since acquiring its long-coveted majority. The characterization of environmental and other activists as enemies of Canada was a shocking indication of his anti-democratic leanings.
The voter-suppression incidents make the Liberal sponsorship scandal look insignificant. There should be a full public inquiry, and whoever is found responsible should face the full force of the law. (Too bad the omnibus crime bill didn't impose a mandatory minimum sentence for election tampering.) The politicians who benefited, even if found to be not legally responsible, should face the consequences at the ballot box.
This assumes, of course, that we will still have the right to vote at the end of Harper's mandate.
