VESTA respects decisions of voters

I'm not sure why there is all this focus on the fact that VESTA endorsed Jane Bouey and Al Blakey. While we are disappointed that we won't have two experienced, progressive voices back on the school board, VESTA did in fact endorse and support all nine COPE/Vision candidates for school trustee. Teachers went out and worked at electing all of them.

If you want to talk about what impact teachers had in this election, I can say that six out of the nine elected trustees are people we supported, and the only successful COPE candidate, Allan Wong, was someone we endorsed. Teachers have been very thankful for a school board that is not afraid to stand up for their students and strongly advocate for adequate funding. Patti Bacchus, in particular, has been a spectacular chairperson who has spent countless time and energy into making sure that the voice of students, parents, teachers, and other staff in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»schools are heard.

Teachers respect the democratic decisions of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»voters and VESTA will do its best to work with all the elected trustees, Vision, COPE, and NPA.
