Burnaby photographer Glen Govier was trying to capture a local barred owl with his camera recently, but wasn’t having any luck.
So, he told me via email, he took a break and headed over the Piper Spit at Burnaby Lake.
This is a popular area for photographers. I spent a lot of time there as a child growing up in North Burnaby.
I would hop on my bike and pedal over. One of the main goals was to spot a beaver. Visitors over the years have often seen beaver dams constructed on the lake, but it’s not easy to see a beaver in action.
Govier doesn’t have that problem. As you scroll through our photo gallery, you can see this busy beaver up close and person. Just look at the details on his muddy face and those amazing claws.
Just spectacular. Here is video Glen Govier shot of the beaver in action.
