History is an important subject in school, but only history written by historians in a scholarly manner after much careful research. It should be presented in a systematic and objective way. The scholars should be free from conflict of interests. The text book should cover history of Canadian immigrants from different parts of the world. It should solely based on facts with no biases. Trying to influence the school curriculum with one's ideology or racial preference would actually work against equality instead of for equality, create division instead of respect for diversity, stir up discrimination instead of towards peace and harmony. In conclusion, this is a job for the historians, not for the social activists.
