Olson's bullying analysis on the money

Columnist called required reading for politicians, CEOs

Re: Mass media, politicians part of bullying problem, April 27.

Columnist Geoff Olson continues to be someone who is able to speak truth to power. When the insanity of the world overwhelms me with despair, at least Mr. Olson assures me that my perceptions are accurate and that I am not alone in seeing the failure of humanity to speak and live truth.

Thank you, Mr. Olson. You ought to be required reading for every politician and CEO.

Excellent piece! I am not a parent but simply a global citizen and someone who is fed up with the "bullying" and assault by mass media and others in powers of authority, including governments! Well said, Mr. Olson.

Geoff Olson reminds us that, in many ways, our culture promotes bullying and violence.

Societies, like families, can make choices that promote a culture of peace. This is one of the lessons Hans Sinn learned through his life; when World War II came to an end he was a 16-year-old recruit in Hitler's SS. He knew he needed to learn from other cultures and chose, eventually, to make Canada his home.

Hans is deeply concerned that the Canadian government is headed in the wrong direction, cutting programs like Katimavik, which offer young people an opportunity to build their capacity for cross-cultural understanding and community service, while promoting military options for youth.
