Re: "View OV protest as global symptom, not local blight," Nov. 11.
I want to express my gratitude to Geoff Olson. He is one of the few writers in today's media with the insight to see the truth and the courage to speak the truth. Much of our societal system is broken and in need of a major revision, yet most media are more interested in finding side issues to create drama around than the elephant that is destroying our environment, our communities and our way of life.
I often avoid reading or watching the news because its representation of reality does not match my own observations and experiences. Olson's columns affirm that I'm not insane after all.
The first step to changing our circumstances is to admit that what we are doing is not working.
