Re: "Indian restaurant stares down city hall over facade," March 16.
Good for East is East! The ubiquitous canvas awnings in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» are Vancouver's greatest eyesore, making almost every retail street in the city look like a cheap strip mall. Council is completely out of touch if they think they are doing anyone a service by mandating such absolute lack of aesthetics in this city. It is a black mark on us and kudos to East is East for using a bit of style sense in their facade.
Allow more variety and raise the bar for everyone. Let's make the city more interesting.
