As fewer than 50 per cent of you probably know, there’s a municipal election Oct. 20. And Vancouver’s mayoral candidates have slowly started to kick out the jams.

A while back, we looked at Hector “the defector” Bremner’s , which had a distinct air of Wes Anderson whimsy to it.

Now we’re examining the synergy-fest of Vision mayoral candidate Ian Campbell.

The video is pleasant enough, with soothing piano and lots of inspirational talk.

But at the 1:56 mark, things get a little eerie, thanks to a slow, overhead drone shot, which hovers behind Campbell in a suit as he walks alone on a sparsely populated beach.

Why is Campbell wearing a black suit on a beach?

Why is he walking alone?

Are his dress shoes the best choice of footwear for tightly packed sand at low tide?

So many questions.

We also wondered if we changed the music, would it look like a scene from a David Lynch movie?

So we tried it out. And we think it does.

Whether “Lynchian” is a sellable feature for a mayoral candidate is doubtful. But it is kind of cool, if you ask us.

Next up, the NPA’s Ken Sim. How did he get such muscular pipes? And does he really bake his own bagels? Stay tuned.
