To the editor:
I'm pleased that we had a bit of variety voted onto this current council. But I'm wondering what kind of views that Green Party Coun. Adriane Carr is bringing to council if her concerns are about tied dogs on the street. I disagree with her as I've seen on one occasion a small child run up to a tied sleeping dog on a very hot street to pet it. The dog nearly gave the child a good bite. If you can't take your dog into the business, leave the dog at home.
There are more important issues council should be discussing instead of the dog tethering bylaw. Dog owners should be taking care of these problems, not city council. I'd love to see heaver fines for unleashed dogs and owners not cleaning up after their dogs. Coun. Carr, please find more important topics to bring to council.
