Re: "Bite fight," Feb. 3.
The VPD constable and dog handler called off the police dog from Christopher Evans a minute too late. Is Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»turning into Mississippi? During the Martin Luther King years of protests in the American south, police dogs were sicced on black people, fire hoses turned on against people. That is the memory that this recent incident here in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»brings back. If Mr. Evans dented the side of the bus, he should be charged for destroying public property. He should not be punished by the VPD allowing its police dog to chew Mr. Evans's leg. That punishment is fit for criminals during the Middle Ages.
