It's unconscionable that the VSB is considering shutting down Continuing Education to save money. Never mind the fact that CE has been already gutted severely over recent years. Never mind the fact that the purpose of CE is not to make a profit; it's to offer opportunities for adults to continue learning at prices that are affordable. But what I find contentious is the claim that it's losing money at all because my guess is that VSB makes money off the labour of CE teachers. My partner has taught CE at least two nights a week for nearly 20 years. Her wages do not come close to the money the VSB pulls in from the students.
