Vancouver’s warming centres, emergency shelters to remain open all weekend

While temperatures are on the rise and the snow is starting to melt, the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­is keeping its warming centres and additional shelter spaces open throughout the weekend.

While temperatures are on the rise and the snow is starting to melt, the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­is keeping its warming centres and additional shelter spaces open throughout the weekend.

The City tweeted Saturday morning that the extreme weather alert, which has been in place all week, has been extended through Jan. 19 due to snow and rainfall accumulation.

The City says all are welcome at the warming centres, and people can bring carts and pets. People with their own bedding may choose to sleep at the centres, and hot drinks and snacks are provided.

Residents can call 211 for shelter information.
