After a brief respite from the rain yesterday, the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast calls for a great deal of rainfall today.
Monday'sÌýforecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day with the possibility of wet snow over higher terrain. Total rainfall accumulations of 10 to 15 mm are expected.
Monday evening is expected to see showers in the evening and heavy rain later on, with total rainfall accumulations of up to 25 mm. The forecast calls for windy periods overnight.Ìý
Tuesday morning'sÌýforecast calls for rain ending in the afternoon, followed by cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers.ÌýTotal rainfall accumulations of 10 to 20 mm are expected. Tuesday night is expected to see rain.Ìý
Environment Canada has also issued a rainfall warning for the South Coast of B.C., noting that rain willÌýbecome heavy at times tonight as a Pacific frontalÌýsystem approaches.ÌýThe heavy rain is expected toÌýcontinue through Tuesday morning and ease later on in the dayÌýas the storm system leaves the region. Total rainfall accumulations of 60 to 90 mm are expected.
The warning notes that the heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible.
