A London Drugs at one of downtown Vancouver’s busiest intersections has been given the all-clear to re-open following an employee's diagnosis of COVID-19.
The London Drugs at Granville and Georgia (710 Granville St.) was closed in order for the company to perform a "deep clean and sanitation" of the location.
The employeeÌýlast worked inÌýthe store on March 18, according to the company, and wasÌýasymptomatic at the time. That worker is currently at home in self-isolation.
London Drugs says the location and company worked closely with Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health in order to undertake the deep cleaning.Ìý
"Drug stores and food stores play a critical and essential role during these extraordinary times. It is our job collectively to ensure they are working well and safe. Please know we are taking all measures to ensure our pharmacies and stores remain as safe as possible," said London Drugs in a press release.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company says allÌýLondon Drugs stores are being surface cleaned every hour at all customer touchpoints and when the stores close, there is a daily deep clean.
During the shutdown, prescriptions were made available at a nearby location, or by delivery.
The London Drugs at Granville and Georgia was able to re-open in the morning of Sunday, March 29.Ìý
