Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health has announced that in an attempt to help reduce transmission of COVID-19, it is restricting visitors to all its facilities to essential visits only.

The restriction includes visits to all VCH hospitals, long-term care, assisted living sites and community health clinics.

Essential visits include compassionate care, such as end of life or critical illness; visits paramount to patient well-being, such as assistance with feeding or mobility; and existing registered volunteers providing essential services.

Visitors who are feeling unwell or experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms cannot visit patients, residents or clients at any VCH facility.

In addition, VCH encourages everyone to do their part in slowing the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing – staying at least two metres away from others – and staying home if they are feeling sick.

Last week, a resident at was diagnosed with COVID-19, and Vancouver’s has been the centre of a coronavirus outbreak in the province.
