With significant amounts of snow falling across the region overnight, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»students are being treated to a rare snow day Wednesday.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»School Board has closed all its schools, including daycares on school property. All rental activities on school properties are also cancelled for the day.
Both the University of B.C. has cancelled classes in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»but the campus is still open. While Simon Fraser University has closed its Burnaby, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Surrey campuses for the day.
TransLink tweeted this morning that bus service in the region is running but experiencing delays on most area due to the snow. The transit authority is warning passengers to allow extra travel time and to bundle up in anticipation of longer wait times.
UPDATE:
As of just after 7 a.m., TransLink tweeted that both bus and SkyTrain service are being "significantly impatced due to inclement weather.
"We are advising customers that today should be considered an extreme travel day and to please stay home where possible."
