UPDATED: Medical emergency shuts down Expo Line service

UPDATE as of 4:30 p.m.: The medical emergency at Braid Station has cleared and normal service has resumed.

A medical emergency has disrupted SkyTrain service at a major Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­station.Ìý

TransLink is reporting thatÌýBraid Station is closed until further notice and there is no service between Sapperton and Lougheed stations. As a result, Expo LineÌýtrains are turning back at Sapperton Station.

AÌýtemporaryÌýbus bridge is set up toÌýtransport customers between Sapperton and Lougheed. Anyone intending to use Expo Line to travel to Production Way will have to get on the Millennium Line at Lougheed.

The Canada and Millennium lines are unaffected and running normally.

Additional security and transit police are at the stations to ensure passenger safety and provide crowd control. Riders seeking alternative routes to SkyTrain are encouraged to consult TransLink’s Trip Planner , and select "Don't Use SkyTrain" under advanced search settings, or contact the customer information desk (604-953-3333) for trip planning advice.
