Two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»men are facing charges in the November 2019 death of Fizul Mohammed.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police announced that 26-year-old Shaikh Hussain and 24-year-old Trent Harper were arrested Friday. Harper has been charged with one count of manslaughter while Hussain is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

Both remain in police custody.

At around 10 a.m. on Nov. 28, officers were called to the the area of Robson and Denman streets for a man in medical distress. Media relations officer Const. Tania Visintin said at the time that investigators believe Mohammed was injured near Main and Hastings and made his way to the West End before he collapsed.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Visintin said Friday that investigators believe the three men knew each other and Mohammed sustained injuries in an altercation.

Photos posted on social media at the time showed a coffee shop near Main and Cordova streets cordoned off behind police tape along with a heavy police presence. And witnesses told a reporter from the Courier’s sister paper the Burnaby Now that the victim was stabbed in the alleyway next to the coffee shop.
