The numbers are rolling in from the snow and windstorm today (Friday) and they aren鈥檛 pretty.
ICBC is saying that there are a large number so vehicle claims.
The biggest problem spot in Metro 麻豆传媒映画is perhaps the Port Mann Bridge, which saw 41 ICBC claims filed for damage from either accidents or 鈥渋ce bombs鈥 once again falling from the wires that support the bridge.
Another 24 claims have been filed by drivers on the Alex Fraser Bridge, which also saw 鈥渋ce bombs鈥 drop onto vehicles. The only reason there were more claims from the Alex Fraser is that the bridge has been closed for much of the day, reducing traffic volume.
The Golden Ears Bridge produced two ICBC claims.
Those are just the bridges. Expect hundreds more claims being filed in the week to come as more snow and sub-zero temperatures hit Metro Vancouver.
According to BC Hydro's outage list, a whopping听12,305 customers in the Lower Mainland and along the Sunshine Coast were without power at various parts of the day, with 4,800 in Burnaby and Port Moody.
Add to this the cost to the City of Burnaby for road crews and the cost to TransLink for extra staff and repairs and you have a really costly single day.
