Police in Montreal are issuing a warning after a man was arrested this week for sexual exploitation and could have victims in B.C.
The Équipe intégrée de lutte contre le proxénétisme (EILP) (Integrated Team to Combat Sexual Exploitation) say they have arrested 24-year-old Sergei Klenovski on eight charges relating to sexual exploitation against a 20-year-old woman.
He was arrested on Monday (Jan. 27).
In a statement, police say in Quebec and B.C.
He appeared in Montreal court on Tuesday (Jan. 28) on eight counts including human trafficking, procuring, sexual assault, threats and use of a weapon.
Klenovski is described as: 5’9” tall and weighing 150 pounds with chestnut hair.
Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim or knows a potential victim to contact their local police station or call 911 to file an official complaint or make a statement.
The Integrated Team to Combat Sexual Exploitation is a joint investigation unit of police forces working together to fight networks involved in the procurement and human trafficking for sexual exploitation at the interregional, interprovincial and international levels.
The unit brings together investigators from the RCMP and police in Quebec City, Laval, Gatineau and Longueuil.
