For four consecutive years, the Gladstone Gladiators were the city's supreme senior girls volleyball team.
This fall, the former city champions won only one of eight regular season games, closing the door on their record run and leaving it open for a new title holder.
The championship will be claimed tonight by Kitsilano or Point Grey.
Kitsilano (6-1) lost one set to Van Tech (6-2) but advanced to the semi-finals Tuesday where they handed David Thompson their first loss of the season, winning in three sets.
Point Grey (7-0) beat Templeton (5-3) in straight sets to meet Killarney in the semi-finals Tuesday. The Greyhounds dropped one set but pulled out the win.
In one regular season meeting in October, Point Grey defeated Kitsilano in four sets.
Kitsilano hosts the championship game tonight at 5 p.m.
