SURREY, B.C. — The RCMP made two arrests on Friday in connection to the death of a young Surrey, B.C. woman in 2017 whose body was found in a burned-out vehicle.

Twenty-four-year-old Gurvinder Deo and 22-year-old Talwinder Khun Khun were arrested by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, as well as offering indignity to human remains.

A new charge of indignity to human remains has also been laid against 21-year-old Harjot Singh Deo, who was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in May.

Police say Harjot Singh Deo was in a romantic relationship with 19-year-old Kiran Dhesi, who received a life-saving kidney transplant six months before she was killed.

With the latest arrests, a total of five members of the same family have now been charged in connection to Dhesi's murder.

Deo's mother, 53-year-old Manjit Kaur Deo, as well as his sister, 23-year-old Inderdeep Deo, were both arrested in May and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

RCMP confirmed that newly-arrested Gurvinder Deo is Harjot Singh Deo's brother, while Talwinder Khun Khun is an extended family member.
