FEEL-GOOD MOVIE: Catch a night at the movies and contribute to cancer research. Tonight, June 9, take in the classic summer blockbuster Jurassic Park at Denman Cinema (1779 Comox) and raise money for The Ride To Conquer Cancer taking place June 18-19. ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES: Weigh in on the state of arts in the city at the Alliance for Arts and Cultures Arts Summit 2011. Hosted in part by SFU Woodwards, join community leaders and arts advocates such as W2s Irwin Oostindie, In The House Festivals Myriam Steinberg and Sandy Garossino of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Not Vegas campaign for comprehensive discussions and workshops on how to keep the arts alive and vibrant in Vancouver. On Sunday, June 12, Ginger 62 (1279 Granville) hosts a night of glitz and glamour in support of The Childrens Wish Foundation. Host Symone Says is your guide to fashions by Jacqueline Conoir, a silent auction, 50/50 draw and more in a bid to raise $20,000 to help terminally sick kids realize their dreams. Feel a little more daring? Participate in the haircut-a-thon earlier in the day from 12-3pm at participating salons.
