Making waves: The sun came out and the winds cooperated at the National Bank Easter Seals Waves Regatta held at the Royal Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Yacht Club. More than 67 boats participated in the annual sailing, which raised $190,000 for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Easter Seals House. It was smooth sailing for Vern Ruskin's Jolly Olly IV crew, which won the Easter Seals Cup while Rick Reynolds was named top fundraiser.

Bowl-a-rama: This year's Project Empty Bowl Gala at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel held special significance. In addition to pieces donated by some of the city's top galleries, the art auction included works from renowned architect Arthur Erickson's personal collection donated by his family. Proceeds supported A Loving Spoonful's efforts to deliver free nutritious meals to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

Fore Stephen: B.C. Motion Picture Production Industry's annual golf tournament fundraiser was renamed the MPPIA Stephen J. Cannell Classic as a tribute to the original tournament founder and industry trailblazer. Chaired by Cheryl Nex and Crawford Hawkins, the event saw 140 golfers hit the links at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club. Yours truly welcomed participants at the 19th hole and emceed the charity dinner in support of the MMPIA Short Film Award and Greater Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Food Bank.
