Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»cyclist Laura Brown won the bronze medal in the women's individual road time trials at the 2011 Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico this weekend.
Brown rode two laps of the 10-kilometre circuit in 28 minutes, 24 seconds flat. She was just 19 seconds behind the gold-medal time posted by Colombian rider, Maria Luisa Calle.
Attending her first major multi-sport competition, Calgary-born Brown said she was thrilled to win a medal for Canada.
"I just want to say thank you to the community here. It was an honour riding here. There was people cheering for us, it was very motivating, and I'm very happy right now," said Brown, who turns 25 on Nov. 27.
On her website at laurabrowncycling.com, she writes, "Laura is living, training, and racing in pursuit of winning medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Summer Games."
