Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has announced 66 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in B.C., bringing the total to 725.

There are now 52 cases on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island, 359 in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coast Health Authority, 241 in Fraser Health, 62 in Interior Health and 11 in Northern Health.

There have been no new deaths in the past 24 hours. Fourteen people have died of COVID-19 in B.C. to date.

Sixty-six people are in hospital, including 26 in intensive care units.

Of the 725 people who have tested positive, 186 have fully recovered and are no longer in isolation.

There have been outbreaks at care homes on the mainland, but none at care homes on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island

Henry said some of the Island cases are the people who have returned from travelling abroad, while others are the result of transmission in the community.
