Vegans, avert your eyes — this one’s for the omnivores. For the third year, Main Street’s will be holding a meat- and whiskey-loaded evening that’s a true Barbarian’s Feast.
The crew at the Cascade Room dreamed up this feast to appeal to those who want to unleash their primal appetites — much like a barbarian likes to do. Basically, go wild on some serious meaty eats.
When it comes to feasts, this one truly goes all out. You and your fellow barbarians will find a buffet-style spread (think medieval “groaning board,” i.e. a table so loaded with food the wood actually groans) complete with a 120 lb. whole roasted pig from Gelderman Farms in Abbotsford, plus more eats like blueberry farmers sausages, chicken fried steak, bratwursts, spicy Italian sausages, roasted chicken, and the Cascade Room’s famous St. Louis ribs with Sassy Molassy BBQ sauce.
Sides will include fresh baked pretzels and beer mustard and artisanal breads courtesy of Andrew Gunn from Cobbs Breads on Main Street, as well as potato salad, sauerkraut, pickles and grilled corn on the cob.
If you can handle it, there will be fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
In addition to whiskey tastings, libations will include ales by Main Street Brewing of 鶹ýӳBC and Driftwood Brewing from 鶹ýӳIsland. These two iconic breweries will be featuring specially made casks brewed with Jamesons Caskmates. Not to be outdone, the creative Cascade Room bar team has a plethora of special whiskey cocktails for the event.
Seating will be first-come, first-served. Bring some cash for raffle tickets – the money is being raised to support the Greater 鶹ýӳFood Bank.
