Six 鶹ýӳrestaurants that have just opened more locations

Kokomo, Prado Café, Bel Café, Ramen Koika, Heirloom Vegetarian and Cacao 70 are expanding

Heirloom fans can now enjoy their banana French toast in West Vancouver.

A few familiar names in the 鶹ýӳrestaurant scene have recently sprouted wings and grown. With brand new locations that have recently opened up, these five local food businesses (and one Quebec import) are ready to feed more Metro Vancouverites.

Here are six 鶹ýӳrestaurants that have just opened more locations.

– Kitsilano

Kokomo isknown for their plant-based menu of bowls, offering everything from fruit and nut-laden acai bowls to grain bowls, salads, and soups. They are also beloved for their smoothies and other snacks, including the dairy-free Aussie soft serve, Coco Whip. Recently theytook over the former Culprit coffee locationin Kitsilano, and made short work of transforming the space into a veg-lover’s chic hang out.

Prado Café — Surrey

Prado Cafe’s Surrey outpost is situated in the lobby of3 Civic Plaza. The Surrey City Centre development includes a hotel and residences, and is Surrey’s tallest tower.This is thefifth location for Prado Cafe, and their first south of the Fraser. The coffee shop was launched in 2004, then taken over in 2011 by award-winning barista and passionate coffee expert Sammy Piccolo.

– Kitsilano

Downtown’s charmingBel Caféhas finally added a second location to its roster. The David Hawksworth venture officiallyopened their doors in Kitsilano in early June. Here they have an expansive counter with pastries and a menu of coffee and tea, including specialty drinks. In addition to the baked goods, they have a selection of savoury toasts (think kale and eggs, or avocado, or tomato and burrata and the like).

– Robson Street

Ramen Koika has been up and running on Davie Street in the West End since March 2014, but this spring they added a location on Robson’s ever-expanding “Ramen Row.” Tuck into Koika’s Nagasaki-style pork broth ramen offerings, including the Black Garlic, another bestseller that really delivers on its promise of garlicky flavour, and their decadent King’s Seafood. They make their thick and thin noodles on site, too.

Heirloom in South Granville has been a go-to for vegetarian and vegan eats in 鶹ýӳfor years now, and they have finally gotten their expansion off the ground. You’ll find them now in West Vancouver, too, dishing up their signature bowls, toasts, salads, sandwiches, and mains, in a beautiful new space in the Grosvenor Ambleside development.

The Quebec-based treats shop centred on all things chocolate has opened not one but two new Vancouver-area locations recently. First up is their Richmond “dippery” ice cream shop in Steveston Village, where you’ll find their oh-so-Instagrammable dipped cones in beautiful hues. Then there’s their newest local “Sweet House” which has opened up on Granville Street in downtown.
