David Chan’s giant pumpkin may just have missed out on being B.C.’s biggest this year.

But at Halloween, Chan sure knows how to bring smiles to the faces of little girls in his Fedoruk Road neighbourhood in east Richmond.

The pumpkin-growing enthusiast transformed his giant gourd into Cinderella’s carriage, complete with a seat for a rider and a door.

It’s not clear how long it took Chan to hollow out the 1,363-pound giant, which, prior to being weighed at a competition in Portland last week, he had hoped might win the title of the province’s biggest.
