Here’s where to celebrate Macaron Day 2018 in Vancouver

Ah, macarons. Those beautiful, beguiling colourful little circles that dazzle the eyes and the tastebuds with their myriad flavours and delicate texture. The French delight is a cherished treat and sometimes indulgence, but if there is any one day each year where the more macaron you buy the more good you’re doing in the world, well, it’s definitely World Macaron Day.

On March 20, around the globe bakeries will offer special deals on macarons, many with a charitable component. 鶹ýӳis one of Canada’s macaron hot spots, and as always, there are a few places that will have some special sales to mark the occasion.

For Macaron Day 2018, TWG Tea will have a special “1 for 1” promo. Find these tea-infused treats at their Georgia Street salon and boutique, available in beautiful gift boxes of 6, 12, or 20 pieces. And to make things sweeter, the deal will be available on all macarons purchased March 20-22, while supplies last.

Address: 1070 West Georgia Street

Soirette is proud to be supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and Yukon for their seventh year of taking part in Macaron Day. Purchase box of six of their assorted macarons at half-price and Soirette will donate 100% of the sales of the first 50 boxes directly to Make-A-Wish. It’s a little bit of a twist up on what Soirette has done before, but it’s every bit as delicious.

Address: 1433 West Pender Street

Thierry Cafe is once again participating in Macaron Day, and they will be contributing partial proceeds to benefit St. Paul’s Hospital. The French treat shop’s selections will include the following flavours: Coconut Chocolate, Cassis, Earl Grey, Matcha, Lemon, Lychee, Coffee, Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate, and Caramel Chocolate.

Address: 1059 Alberni Street

Bon Macaron has something pretty exciting in store for Macaron Day this year. When you purchase six macarons that day from them, $5 from each purchase will be donated to BC Children’s Hospital, and for your generosity, they’ll throw in an extra macaron just for you. But each purchase also gets you an entry into their Macaron Day flavour contest; submit your idea for a flavour of macaron and you could see your flavour featured on their shelves. Plus you’ll be entered to win two passes to one of Bon Macaron’s macaron-making classes.
