Chef Robert Belcham and Kitsilanos Refuel will be hosting their next Late Night Industry P.I.G. Dinner on Weds., July 27. Designed for hungry restaurant workers after the toil of service, it starts at 11pm and guests gather at communal tables (after the restaurant closes to the public) to feast on southern-style suckling pig paired with cask beer from R&B Brewing Co. The cost per person is $59 (includes food, tax, gratuity and beer). To register attendance, tickets must be purchased in advance at the restaurant (1944 W4th Ave, 604-288-7905, RefuelRestaurant.com).
The award-winning Chambar restaurant on Beatty will host its annual Belgian National Day Feast on Thurs., July 21. Billed as a feast fit for kings, its a rather savage affair (no silverware is provided). The celebration will include 15 different dishes served family style, including a spit roast pig prepped on the street outside and carved in the front lounge by chef/owner Nico Schuermans (a proud Belgian). Seats are $70, which includes beer upon arrival and three hours of feasting. To reserve, phone 604-879-7119 or purchase tickets online at Chambar.com/tickets.
