Once again huge crowds gathered at favourite spots ¨C English Bay, Second Beach and Kitsilano (to name a few) ¨C to gaze up at the sky and feel a little magic.
For the first time, the public was invited to vote on a theme for the fireworks and an overwhelming majority of Vancouverites chose ¡°love.¡±
This year¡¯s competing countries have already made sparks fly. South Africa kicked off the event with a dazzling display on Saturday and Sweden had crowds saying "ooh" and "aah" with a bright and beautiful display on Wednesday.
