Favourite memories of trip: Despite her giant smile, Lenora was boiling in the 40 C (104 Fahrenheit) heat at Fire Canyon, located northeast of Las Vegas. The change from white to red in the hills occurs when quantities of iron in the rock produce a rust-like stain.
